In response for the demand for a high caliber of musicianship and versatility from the most musically astute and demanding audiences, studio saxophone player, arranger and composer, Cal James, has gathered together a select group of New York’s finest studio musicians and vocalists who may frequently be seen performing at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and The Blue Note as well as other prestigious venues around the world.

The Cal James Orchestra has been featured at notable events such as Caroline Kennedy’s wedding and more recently at the 20 Year Giorgio Armani Retrospective at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City.

This versatile dance band achieves an exciting and authentic sound playing everything from Gershwin, Cole Porter and Richard Rogers show tunes, to authentic arrangements of R&B, Motown, Disco, 70’s, contemporary jazz & rock classics. They are also at home playing fox trots, rhumbas, cha-chas & virtually any other musical style of the century.

The Cal James Orchestra offers a virtuoso string quartet, flute trio, brass quintet, classical guitar, harp ensembles and other configurations of classical or jazz musicians that may be needed for your wedding ceremony or corporate reception.
